My natural hair is dark and so I struggle with this! Here are few tips that help me! #2 is the step with the most impact. 1) use dry shampoo at the roots right out the gate. I still use a root lifting spray and I’ll use extra and sometimes I’ll have to go and put in dry shampoo to help. Give me a little extra lift on day one after a shampoo. 2) this is usually happening because i’m due for a blonding services done around my crown and my fringe area/front of face. Not wanting to commit to a full or partial? No problem! Ask your service provider for a face frame. but the second that you’re starting to feel flat go book your reservation so that way you know you’ve got a solid fix coming your way. For a lot of my clients I’ll throw in a couple extra of foils around the top of the part line after I’ve got the hairline foiled out that will help give volume yet still a seamless grow out. 3) texture spray! All day everywhere. Lift up around your part line and spray in about an inch off the route. Til your head to either side and spray up into the hair. Really need more? You can cut a shag 100 different ways and you can protect your hair from chlorine 100 different ways as well. I’m sure there are products out there that can have chemical reactions with chlorine (none professional that I know of!) but here are your steps: 1) coat your hair with a leave in conditioner/hydration or your shower conditioner 2) get your hair wet with tap water first 3) add more of product from step 1 if your really worried Y’all, you can do this with what you have at home or at your local salon. This product has EXCELLENT marketing. That’s it! Here’s the deal y’all - you have 2 roads to go down and I need to be frank here. And know I Love you! You can either choose to support the small business that has this on their shelves. Support the stylist (hi, hello! Its me!) that took the time during your reservation to walk you through why this works, how it works, and the features benefits and usages for other life happenings that is applicable to that product. And I know that you think you do support small business, But when you buy from amazon something you know that your stylist or small business educates you on how to prepare for the upcoming seasonal challenges, then take the time to go support your trades person - the people that take care of you and your family - takes a village, y’all! Or you can support a non local, lesser value brand at the convenience of only yourself - okay unless you have a crush on the driver (Legally Blonde hello!) or EMERGENCY! or you have a stronger connection with someone that works there/they give you hair advice and tailor an instagram page to bridge that gap between consumer and stylist. I used to feel the same way as you; I felt like I had to settle with the hair that I had because nothing I was buying worked. After becoming licensed, continuing my education regularly and actually commiting to “saying as I was doing”, I am here to tell you if you do these 3 things, you’ll get your hair look how you want: 1️⃣Like 90 Day Fiancé, 90 probationary periods at work {{or dating!!}, your hair system should deliver what it needs to within that time period…and do so consistently. If it feels good the first time but then gets waxy or generates build up, then this is not working. 2️⃣Give the system you’re prescribed more than 2 shampoos/styles to work and stick with what was prescribed - stop 🛑 sneakin’ in the other stuff that you’ve used or you think you should be using. 🥸 🥗Vegetable proteins, for example, move low and slow. But, they are some of the best technologies out there for repair. You must trust the process, and sometimes this can take up to 30 - 60 days to deliver desired results - think like supplements. 3️⃣There will be no change, without change. If you keep using the same products (that aren’t giving you the results you desire) because you feel safe with them, then you’ll never feel and see the full potential of where your hair can go!
